Kapuzinerberg

Jatketaanpa näiden Salzburgin keskustan "kukkuloiden" läpikäymistä. Toukokuun alussa kerroin teille Mönchsbergistä, nyt olisi luvassa toisen keskustan "mini-vuoren" vuoro.

Kapuzinerberg on uuden kaupungin puolella ja sinne pääsee kapuamaan keskustan ostoskadulta, Linzergasselta. Portaat näyttävät hirmu jyrkiltä kun niitä tapittaa ostoskadulta mutta noin 5-10min kapuamisen jälkeen ei portaista ole enää tietoakaan!

Me lähdettiin muutama viikko sitten aamulla kävelemään Kapuzinerbergille, säätiedoitus lupasi yli 30 astetta lämmintä ja ylös kapuaminen oli parempi vaihtoehto kuin kaupungissa hikoilu.
Kapuzinerbergillä on munkkiluostari, jonne pääsee myös sisälle. Ylhäällä on hyvät kävelytiet, halusipa sitten vain ihailla vanhaa kaupunkia ensimmäiseltä näköalatasanteelta tai kävellä hieman pitemmälle ja ihailla maisemia hieman paremmin. Me kävelimme yhteensä muutaman tunnin, reitti ei ole yhtään vaativa ja koko matkan oli todella viileää. Puiden oksat olivat kasvaneet niin hyvin yhteen että kaikkialla oli varjoista. Ylhäällä olevassa kuvassa näkyy meidän kävelyreitti.

Kapuzinerbergin toisella puolella on ravintola. Kuuleman mukaan brunssi on siellä todella hyvä, siellä pitää ehdottomasti käydä. Jatkoimme matkaa ravintolalta vartiomuuria pitkin. Matka oli muutaman kilometrin pituinen ja suosittelen käyttämään lenkkareita. Vaikka polut olivat puhtaita ja tasaisia, en itse ainakaan haluaisi kävellä kyseistä reittiä esim. ballerinoissa.

Kun jatkaa muurin viertä, on mahdollista nähdä todella upeita vuorimaisemia. Kierroksen kruunaa hieno näkymä vanhasta kaupungista (linnake) ja vuorista(Untersberg). Annan tässä kuvien puhua puolestaan.

Let's continue with the hills in Salzburg city center. I already wrote about Mönchsberg, now I'll write about the second "mini-mountain", Kapuzinerberg.
Kapuzinerberg is on the newer side of the Old City and you can access it from the shoppingstreet Linzergasse. The steps look really steep but after going up for about 5-10minutes there are no steps in sight!

We went up to Kapuzinerberg about two weeks ago as the weather forecast promised over 30 degrees. It was a better idea to clime up than sweat in the city. There is a monastery on Kapuzinerberg where you can also go inside. The footpaths are great on Kapuzinerberg, it doesn't matter if you want to look at the Old City from the first lookout post or take a longer hike. We walked about two hours, the tour was really easy and it was not hot at all. On one of the pictures you can see our route.

There is a restaurant on Kapuzinerberg. The brunch should be really good, I have to visit this restaurant some time in the future. We continued our trip along the stonewall. I can recommend wearing sneakers. Even thoug the paths are clean and it's easy to get around, I wouldn't want to walk the route with ballerinas on.
When you walk along the stonewall, you can enjoy some really beautiful views. The best comes at the end of the route with the view of Hohenfestung Salzburg and mountains behind it. I'll let the pictures speak for itself.
